RESEARCH MANAGER
A position has become available for a Research Manager to be involved in a large scale plantation forest development company currently establishing and replanting more than 1,500 hectares per month of Acacia and Eucalyptus plantations.
The Research Manager will work closely with the Senior Research Manager and R&D team in tree breeding, silvicultural research, growth monitoring as well as pest and disease monitoring and P&D research.
A good understanding of plant growth and soils will be beneficial as site species matching will be part of the research managers duties, where various species and hybrids need to be evaluated on a wide variety of sites.
For this position you need to have:
- Experience in forestry/agricultural research.
- Experience in data analysis and interpretation of research data.
- A proven track record as a successful team leader.
- At least 5 years experience at a forestry/agricultural company doing research.
- A BSc (Forestry) or Diploma in Forestry/Agriculture is expected.
- Be proactive in problem identification and resolution.

The position is at Samarakan R&D Centre, Bintulu, Sarawak approximately 50 kilometres south of Bintulu town. Salary, allowance and benefits-in-kind offered to the successful applicant are subject to Malaysian tax.
The successful candidate must be a holder of a valid driving licence.
